I was able to RESOLVE this issue (exact same as everyone elses Failed Validation / failed to update software) I hope this helps anyone else struggling with finding the right driver for their device. I installed this link and my dongle started working and I was able to get my bluetooth serial port (all I needed) working. Based on the form factor and the features, I'd bet both devices are using the same broadcom chipset inside. I found the windows 7 driver under the plugable site. However, I want to be able to help out anyone who did buy this Insignia device and is trying to get it to work under Windows 7. I almost hesitate to put the link up, as overall the other vendor has a 100x better support site and people should just buy their product in the future. Instead they rely on Broadcom's support site. It is quite amazing to me that Insignia's support is this terrible that they can not host their own driver on their own webpage. I did manage to get my Insignia's NS-PCY5BMA dongle to work by downloading the driver from another vendor's website. I was having the exact same problems installing a driver for windows 7 and I found this forum online.
